CASA
Parish Advocate Network
What is it?
The Parish Advocate Network is an extension of the Diocesan Committee on Alcohol and Substance Abuse. It is a specific individual in each congregation who has the desire to assist the Committee with its mission, and to assist their parish priest in responding to the needs of persons seeking help with alcohol and substance abuse problems.
How to do it?
This individual , who will be trained by the Committee will be the link within their congregation to information and resources to assist these persons seeking help. They will keep updated information on community resources, treatment centers, contact people and CASA events of interest. They will also direct questions and needs for information not available in their community to the Advocate Coordinator. The Advocate Coordinator, as a member of the CASA, will have access to professional consultation and statewide resources to assist the Advocates of the Network.
