Youth & Young Adults
Our purpose is to provide a safe and structured environment for youth and young adults to explore their own faith, learn about the Gospel of Christ and recognize God's unconditional love. Our mission is to draw youth into a closer relationship with Christ by offering programs that bring young people together from across the diocese to experience a fun and vibrant Christian community in the company of nurturing and supportive volunteer leaders. We also offer training and provide resources to congregations and regions and serve as advocates for young people in all areas of ministry in the church and the world. We connect youth to the larger church through participation in provincial and national events. Organized gatherings for young adults are also key to building relationships.
Youth Ministry Architects: Spring and Summer 2014
With transitions in staff, budget, technology, and generations - youth ministry in the Diocese of Olympia is entering into a time of visioning and discernment. Youth Ministry Architects, a nationally recognized youth consulting firm, has been retained to assess and support us in visioning our future. Their team will be here March 28-30, 2014 to help us to evaluate where we are and where we want to go. Leslie Manning, Diocesan Youth Director in Alabama, and Dave Sippel, senior youth consultant, will want to meet with as many of YOU as possible. They will return on June 20-22, 2014 for a 3-day visioning/retreat. If you would like to participate as youth in March or a youth leader in June, please let Rebecca Kirkpatrick know by emailing: email@example.com. It is our hope that this group will reflect a variety of interests, regions, and types of youth groups and programming from around the Diocese. We will discern the future youth programming through these sets of weekends.
