Rebecca Kirkpatrick joins bishop's staff as Episcopal chaplain at UW
A graduate of Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, the Rev. Rebecca Kirkpatrick served in college ministries at Yale and Columbia universities before returning to the Diocese of Olympia. For the past seven years, she has served as associate rector at St. Andrew, Seattle, overseeing children and youth ministries and now a missional ministry at George, a young-adult ministry and community center in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood. She also served as chaplain at Annie Wright School in Tacoma for the past two years.
Kirkpatrick will continue her ministry at George and St. Andrew's while also serving part-time as the chaplain at the University of Washington. She begins Aug. 1 and succeeds the Rev. Mary Shehane, deacon, who is retiring from the position after 15 years of service in this ministry.
