Evangelism
The Evangelism Office oversees the evangelism program for the diocese, setting goals/objectives for the program on an annual basis, and reviewing these at the end of each year to justify the diocesan budget funds supporting the evangelism program.
With a purpose of equipping congregations of the diocese to share the Good News of Christ, the evangelism program offers a variety of training workshops across the diocese annually and at Ministry Resource Day.
The focus is on radical welcome, not just inviting, welcoming, and incorporating new people, but also learning how to share our own faith stories and journeys with others in incarnational ways. It's not just about growing the church, it is about sharing the Good News of Christ. Scholarship assistance is offered to congregations to attend national and regional trainings such as Start Up Start Over and Provincial conferences.
The commission supports the TV Eucharist, on KONG cable television, and helps fund the pastor of Church of The Apostles, an important emerging church community in the Fremont area of Seattle, a joint Episcopal/Lutheran start up.
