Planned Giving & Stewardship
The Planned Giving/Stewardship Office offers training and resources to congregations around year round stewardship, annual campaigns, and planned giving. The focus is on a theology of abundance, understanding that all we have are gifts from God, so Christian Stewardship is our reflection of giving back to God in gratitude for all that has been given to us.
The program relies heavily on materials developed by TENS (The Episcopal Network for Stewardship) and offers workshops annually on a diocesan wide basis. Individual congregation teams can receive training to assist them with their annual campaigns as well as develop an ongoing planned giving ministry. Preaching and teaching are available.
The office offers the free service of receiving stock transfers which can be distributed to any congregation or Episcopal ministry or program. The office also oversees several diocesan wide development activities, including Episcopal Charities Appeal, Student Scholarship Committee, and We Will Stand With You. Thank you acknowledgment letters for tax purposes are sent to all donors and records are kept on file.
The office offers online giving for a variety of fundraising programs. The Diocesan Life Planning Manual is available at the website. The Bishop's Society is the largest diocesan recognition society in The Episcopal Church, started in 1993, with 1250 members. Anyone who has made arrangements for a legacy gift to their church or any Episcopal ministry qualifies.
