Because the need for financial support continues to escalate as the cost of training for Holy Orders grows, the Student Scholarship Committee was formed in 2002. Its goal is to assist all individuals seeking ordination, both deacons and priests.
In this diocese this past year, we distributed over $30,000 to seminarians, the majority of this coming from the Mentzer Endowment (men only) and the Seminary Scholarship Endowment (begun by the Episcopal Church Women over 50 years ago). Monies given by individuals like you over these years has been and continues to be a huge step toward greater connection and support of those we have called to study and serve. Donors may either designate their gifts or direct them to one of the endowment funds to build the principle.
